Obituary for Shirley Durward - Kingsville Celebration Centre

Shirley Eleanor (nee Tait) Durward, passed away peacefully at SunParlour Home in Leamington, Ontario Sunday September 6, 2020. She had 90 beautiful years on this earth and God has taken her to join her husband George (1922-1978). Shirley is pre-deceased by her brother Harold (1925-2010) and her parents Sadie and Orlie Tait. Shirley is survived by her four boys Cameron, Scott (Lucia), Bruce (Tina) and Stephen Durward. Her cherished grandchildren Alexander, William, Victoria, Christopher, Danielle, Andrew, Geoffrey, Britney, Dylan, Mackenzie, Ryan and Alistair, as well as, her great-grandchildren Charlotte, Otto and Rayanne will miss her too.
Shirley was a generous soul and had a great sense of humour. She loved her George and loved her kids unconditionally. A special thank you goes to the men and women of Chartwell Kingsville and the SunParlour Home in Leamington. Their dedication to the care of Shirley made this transition bearable.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home, 91 Division Street South in Kingsville. Visitation will take place Friday September 11, 2020 from 3 – 7 p.m. A short liturgy will follow at 7 p.m. A private internment will take place in Rexdale where she will be laid to rest with George. All appointments for visitation and the service must be booked ahead of time with the funeral home. As per COVID-19 Regulations, attendance will be monitored to maintain capacity and social and physical distancing for the health and safety of all guests, staff, and family. All guests attending must wear a face mask.
If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association in Shirley’s name.
