It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Dawtry on January 27, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
Loving husband of 48 years to the late Gloria Dawtry (nee Davidson). Most cherished father to Colleen (Bill) Thorpe, Lisa (Lyle) Simpson and Ron (Marisol) Dawtry.
Dear Grandpa to Cameron, Kate (Sheldon), Cody, Mykala (Eric), Steven and Josh. Proud Great Papa to Melissa, Layton, Paisley, and Madison.
Ron was born in in Sheffield, England to the late Elsie and Ronald Dawtry. He came across to Canada as a young boy and settled in the Toronto area and years later would meet the love of his life. He will also be missed by his siblings Peter, Barbara, and Brenda.
Ron drove for Greyhound for over 30 years. His greatest joy came from his family, he loved to see and visit with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Ron loved his vacations with friends Ron and Bonnie. He loved to take Melissa to figure skating and watching all her performances.
Ron also enjoyed spending his time with Melissa going on Papa dates and doing yardwork and gardening together.
He had a love for food which couldn’t be matched, loved to talk, and had many stories to share.
A special thank you to the Copper Beach staff at Royal Oak – Kingsville for their care, compassion, and friendship.
Cremation has taken place, and a private service was held.
