I did not know Bob MacWilliam well, but I had the greatest respect for the man. He came along at the right time and gave kids in St. Clair Beach, Tecumseh, and everywhere out to Belle River the opportunity to play hockey, and for this I shall be forever grateful to him.

Bob was the kindest man. He gave our family a chance to be part of his. We leased the barns at Merrymac Farms, enjoying every day we were there. Bob made sure we were all doing well, and shared what he had with others. He gave wonderful advise and loved to laugh. He taught everyone who would listen so much. His children have become the same kind of persona. Our lives were so much better because he was in them. Bob encouraged everyone to live their dreams, to plan well and get ahead. We are so sorry he is not with us anymore and will always remember and be grateful for the time he was with us. A life well lived.

Bob was a great man who had a smile for everyone. A great family man . He was a visionary entrepreneur whom built and owned the St. Clair Beach arenas which in its heyday was the busiest arena complex in south west Ontario. Many of us who worked there became arena managers, arena operators , hospital administrators to name a few. We owe alot to Bob and are very grateful to have served under him in his many business adventures that included ice rinks, hockey and figure skating schools, quarter horse operations as well as the Grand Bend enterprises. A lot of great people graduated into other walks of life all from the school of Mr. MacWilliam and his proud family.

Well put Steve! What a great man and incredible family! Mr and Mrs Mac, Bob & Joyce, and the heritage continues. It was truly an honour and blessing to be included in the MacWilliam family, because that's what it felt like. Great memories heading up to Grand Bend for the weekend with the family in the station wagon. Building the Giant Slide, seeing the moon landing in the Ice Cream shop, serving folks in the Dollar House with sawdust floors. Mr Mac loved 'keeping an eye on the beach' from the Duck In... just to make sure everyone was safe... I'm sure. Many memories at the arenas and the farm.. and the occasional rum and coke when visiting. Thanks from the mentoring in my early working years... I have been truly blessed and am grateful that our paths crossed! Well done Bob!

Steve and Bob have done a great job of capturing what so many of us experienced by being in the presence of Bob and Joyce there is not much to add. What I will say is after working for Bob for 14yrs I learned more life and business skills from Bob and Joyce than anything I took away from graduate school. They were my mentors, they gave me the confidence to reach for things I never thought I could ever achieve. I was so fortunate to have them come into my life. As Steve and Bob have stated so many of us owe so much to Bob for which we can never repay and knowing Bob he would never take any credit. He is and will be missed by many.
