It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Allan announce his passing on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Gwen Allan (nee MacDonald) his treasured and adored wife of 59 years. Proud father of Gordon (Shirleen) Allan and Karen (Dan) Roles. Cherished grandpa of Josh (Kimberly), Morgan, Emily, Gillian, Abby, Nathan, and Natalie (Morgan). Bob also leaves behind a brother, George Allan and the late Susan, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Allan. Survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues, and lifelong friends.
Robert dedicated and loved his years working as a teacher for the GECDSB. He then became school principal, and eventually superintendent before his retirement. Bob influenced the lives of everyone he knew, connecting with so many throughout his lifetime. He often was described as a strong leader, and a mentor to adults and children alike. Bob’s life was rooted in his Christian faith, and he shared this joy with others. He was a committed member of his church, a gifted speaker, and always an encouragement to everyone.
A private family funeral service will take place at Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville. There will be a livestream of Robert's funeral on Saturday, June 5, 2021 starting at 11 a.m. from www.Kendrickfuneralhome.com. Burial to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
