Obituary for Nathan Lyman - Kingsville Celebration Centre

"Nathan Morris Lyman, 34, of Windsor ON, formerly of Kingsville and Nipigon ON., died by suicide on March 26th, 2020.
Nathan was born on October 9th, 1985. He is survived by his parents Thomas and Linda Lyman, sister Maylin Tiessen (Darren), nephew Edison and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his grandparents Morris and Lillian Lyman and John and Anita Sanger.
He grew up in Kingsville with a childhood full of family adventures near and far with a special love for Walt Disney World and Cedar Point. He enjoyed parties, playing video and board games and playing outside. He loved food either at home or eating out and we would know this by his audible “mmm” or happy humming. Though bizarre at times, Nathan’s sense of humour was hilarious. We all enjoyed our infinite inside stories and our own family language, Lymanese. He had a giant heart and was extremely generous towards his small inner circle. Nathan was very bright and used his skills both professionally and recreationally. He graduated from Cambrian College as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. His career brought him to Nipigon where he enjoyed the beauty of Northern Ontario. He would use his intelligence to play games both online and in person. He had a passion for the card game Magic the Gathering. He was very creative and used this to write songs and draw. Nathan was very thoughtful, and his heart overflowed with empathy. His desire to explore and learn on the internet was both a blessing and curse as it hurt him to know of the innumerable hardships in the world.
Unfortunately, Nathan’s battles with addiction and mental health caused distance between him and the things and people he loved. As a family we would ask for community-wide discussions about mental health and to pull the suffocating demon of depression and suicide into the bright light of day.
Thank you for helping us remember this beautiful soul. A celebration of life will take place at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home- Kingsville Celebration Centre.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to The Windsor Downtown Mission, Intact America or a mental health organization of your choice."
