Obituary for Martha Chobrda - Kingsville Celebration Centre
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Chobrda (age 70) on October 7, 2023 in Sudbury, after a sudden and brief battle with cancer.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, widow and fiancée. Martha was the cherished wife of 51 years to the late Steve Chobrda (2021) with whom they raised 3 children; daughter Mandy and husband Steve Johnson, son Jeremy and wife Stacie Chobrda, and late son Theron Chobrda (2019). She was also blessed with 5 grandchildren; Jessica Johnson, Seth Chobrda, Adam Johnson, Sarah Johnson and Addisyn Chobrda, all of whom she treasured, enjoyed and loved. Martha was the dear sister of Karen Wilcox and loving friend and fiancée of Fraser Lear with whom she had great future plans of travel and companionship.
Martha lived a life filled with love, devotion, friendship and Christian faith. She loved helping others and volunteering, both with her church family and in the communities of Leamington and Elliot Lake. Martha retired in 2018 after many years of exceptional service with the GECDSB as an administrative assistant.
Family and friends welcome visitation at Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville, Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. This will be immediately followed by a celebration of Martha’s life at the same location. Martha will be laid to rest at a later date with her late husband Steve and late son Theron at Iler Cemetery, Harrow.
