Obituary for Marion Bruinsma - Chatham Celebration Centre
Passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 at the age of 92.
Marion was born on November 29, 1930 in Ureterp, Friesland, The Netherlands; daughter of the late Ben Bruinsma (1983), and Fanny Bylsma Bruinsma (1991). Marion is predeceased by her parents, brothers Andrew (2019), George (1998), Jack (2014), and sister-in-law Grenda (2019). Survived by eight nieces and nephews, many cousins and extended family in Canada, the US and the Netherlands. Remembered by her secretary of 54 years, Marilyn Fuchs.
After the Bruinsma family immigrated to Canada on September 21, 1947, and settling in the Chatham area, the family started their construction company, "Ben Bruinsma and Sons Ltd." . Marion worked her entire life along side her family in the office helping run the day to day operations of the business.
Marion was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church for many years.
Friends and family will be received at First Christian Reformed Church, 5 Tweedsmuir Avenue East, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 10 to11 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
