Obituary for Margaret Doreen Augustine (Burton)

Augustine, Margaret

Passed away comfortably at the age of 93 on March 28, 2019 surrounded by her family. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children Nancy (Ron Kellington), Ruth Ann (Robert Koop), Denis (Deb), and Mary (Dan Quinn). Grandmother to Jennifer, Kerry, Julia, Steven, Kimberly, Stacey, Amy, Julie, Brendan, and Caley. Great-grandmother to 10. Predeceased by beloved husband Murray (April 3, 2016), daughter Janice, brother Leonard Burton, and parents George and Grace Burton. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Margaret enjoyed her life working at the bank in her younger years, until marrying Murray in 1951, and moving to the farm that they ran together and served as their home for raising their family. In the last five and a half years of her life, Margaret relished her time with a beautiful view from the 4th floor at the Sun Parlor Home in Leamington. Despite her Alzheimer’s disease, Margaret continued to laugh, love and show compassion for others each and every day. Her quick wit kept everyone on their toes, bringing a bright smile along the way.
Many thanks to the wonderfully fun-loving and dedicated staff at Sun Parlor Home, whose care, jokes and high spirits made her time very enjoyable, and enabled Margaret to keep laughing and teasing every day. It was easy to see how much they loved her, and for that we will be eternally grateful. We would also like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to our Home Instead caregivers who seamlessly grew to become part of our family. Their time spent playing games, attentively listening with keen interest to her old stories, and simply loving her, enriched her life more than we could ever have imagined or hoped for. You will all be forever dear in our hearts; thank you Anna, Jane, Sue, Coreen and Brianne. Visitation will take place at Kendrick Funeral Home (91 Division Street South, Kingsville) on Monday April 1, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 10am Tuesday April 2nd at First Baptist Church, Kingsville (58 Division Street North, Kingsville) preceding a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Greenhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or First Baptist Church.
