Obituary for Lionel Gibson - Wheatley Celebration Centre
GIBSON, Lionel Stanley;
77 years, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at CKHA-Chatham Campus. Lionel was born December 7, 1946, in Saskatchewan to his parents, the late Silas and Florence Gibson (nee Sharpe). Loving husband of Debra Gibson (nee Reekie) for 32 years. Father of Bradley and Daniel. Grandpa of Nathan and Christopher. Dear brother of Clifford (Carol), Rod (Pat), Dan (Gail) and the late Lloyd (late Ora). Brother-in-law of Harold (Sherrie) Reekie. He will also be remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Lionel retired from Stelco Inc. (Hamilton, ON) after 30 years of employment. He was very proud of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME).
In following Lionel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home, Wheatley.
