Obituary for Karen Myers - Chatham Celebration Centre

Karen June Verleen (Cope) Myers passed away Friday, January 6th, 2023 in Chatham at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 79.

Karen’s love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was abundant, and filled her life with joy.
Karen was born in Petrolia, ON to Hank and Luella Cope on July 7th, 1943. She married the love of her life, Ray Myers, on September 24th, 1960, in Wallaceburg, ON. Karen was a stay-at-home mother who dedicated her entire life to her family, who she adored.

Karen was pre-deceased by her father, Hank Cope, her mother, Luella Cope, her brothers Bill Cope, Bob Cope, Wayne Cope, and Dick Cope.

Karen is survived by her family: her childhood sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Ray Myers, and her beloved children Dan (Teri) Myers, Mike (Carrie) Myers, Steve (Crystal) Myers, and Kelly (Fran) Murphy-Myers. Also survived by her sister Dianh (Vince) Petrany, and her cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Melissa) Myers, Jacob (Darah) Myers, Matthew (Jess) Myers, Braydon (Celene) Myers, Logan Myers, Drew Myers, Abigail (Spencer) Ward, and Cameron Ward. Missing her deeply as well are dear family friends Karl Leeson, and Ruth Ann Rhea.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home-Chatham.

The family of Karen Myers wish to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and palliative care personnel that provided exemplary care for Karen and her family during this difficult time.
