It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on December 24th, 2019 at the age of 87. The anchor of John’s life was his steadfast faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Today, Dad truly rests in peace. John was born to Peter and Katie Driedger of Kingsville. Dear husband of Jean (Fox) for 63 years. Beloved father of Jennifer Freeman (Bill), Jeffrey Driedger (Sandy), David Driedger, Paul Driedger (Betty-Sue), and Diana Humphries (Duane). Proud Papa to Greg Freeman, Pamela Bedard (Rob) and Jarrod Freeman (Amanda); Naomi Pol (Tyler), Katie Burns (Dan) and Afton Driedger; Brittany Johnstone-Levesque, Kyle Driedger (Elisa) and Jordan Driedger (Shelby); Rachel, Rebecca and Ryan Driedger; Bailey and Ty Humphries. Proud Great-Papa to 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Christie Freeman (1989) and great-grandsons Joseph and Andrew Bedard (2013). John was a long time employee of Transit Windsor. Following retirement, John dedicated more than 20 years as a volunteer at Leamington District Memorial Hospital with his wife Jean. He was an active member his whole life of First Baptist Church in Kingsville. Dad was the rock of our family and will be truly missed.
Visitation will take place at Kendrick Funeral Home (Kingsville) on Monday December 30, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Followed by a celebration of John’s life at 12 p.m. Burial to follow in Iler Cemetery. If you wish, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Kingsville.
