Obituary for Jim Gaffan - Kingsville Celebration Centre

Jim passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home as per his wishes. Born in Malta, son of Robert and Maria Gaffan, moved to Canada in 1948. He loved being a Barber for over 67 years. He was instrumental in Town Council including former Mayor for 29 years. Many will remember him as their trusted bus driver for 26 years.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family, his children, Jim Gaffan Jr. and Wendy, Tim Gaffan, Jeanna Gaffan, Tammie Fraser and Scott, Tony Gaffan and Laura, John Gaffan and Janene Gaffan jr.; his 13 grandchildren, 12 great grand children & 1 great great grandchild; his brothers and sisters, Katie Gaffan, late Helen Gaffan, Morris Gaffan, Joyce Terron and Gloria Mertz, Ted Gaffan, Rose Hanson, Charlie Gaffan, Martha Gee and Paul Gaffan.

Although we all have heavy hearts and sorrow because of our loss, we can find happiness, peace and comfort knowing he is reunited with Janene (nee Saunders (2016) his beautiful wife in heaven.

Jim was very active and involved in many community clubs, enjoyed playing golf, darts and socializing in the Barbershop.

Visitation for Jim will be held at Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 3 to 7 p.m. and again on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10 a.m. at St. John de Brebeuf Catholic Church (67 Main St E, Kingsville, ON N9Y 1A1). Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
The family will then receive friends at the Royal Canadian Legion-Kingsville Branch (145 Division St S, Kingsville, ON N9Y 1P5) from 12 to 4 p.m. to continue celebrating the life of Jim.
