Cecilia “Cissy” Marie Kissner (nee Roelens)

Courageously departed this earthly realm to be reunited with her true love, surrounded by her family. Taken by the Lord too soon at the age of 68 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her parents, Elsie A. Roelens (2010) and Albert Roelens (1990). Predeceased by siblings Simone (1952), Joseph Patrick (2012), and Beverley (2020). She is survived by siblings Francis, Cam (Yuen Ja), Ruth, Paul (Yvonne), Laurie (Ron), and Myron (Linda).

Predeceased by husbands, William (Bill) Hodges (1976), Douglas Kissner (1993), and Richard Simpson (2008).

Cherished mother of Shelley Baltzer (Glenn), Amy Kissner (Tony), Trevor Kissner (Tonni), and Tyler Kissner (Tanya). Second mom to Janet Simpson. Loving grandma to Justin, Blake, Douglas, Aspen, Chloe, Nova, and Phoenix (aka Gus). Adopted grandma to Glenn Jr, Brian, Jennifer (Grant), Jade, Blake, Jeremiah, and Natasha (2021). Adopted great-grandma to Ashtyn, Gwen, Kinsley, and Avery. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Cissy was well known in Kingsville as a kind, compassionate, hardworking woman. She fed generations of families as a cook for several restaurants, including J+J Sub shop for over 25 years. She later worked as a cook at Southgate Residence for 15 years. Cissy was a bright light for many people in her life, and will be greatly missed along with the delicious meals she cooked. Mom, we love you, and we thank you for the blessing you were and will always be in our hearts.

Visitation at Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville on Friday, July 28th, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 12pm. A celebration of Cissy’s life will take place Saturday, July 29th, at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
