Obituary for Cary Anne Brown - Kingsville Celebration Centre

BROWN, Cary Anne (nee Schnekenburger);

It is with broken hearts but wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our dear sister and aunt, Cary Brown, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at home surrounded by family at the age of 59 years.

Cary was born in Windsor on March 18, 1963, to her parents, Kenneth and Ann Schnekenburger (nee MacLellan). Dear sister of Linda Van Dyken (Ed), Mark Burger (Pagasa), Chris Schnekenburger, Beth Van Dyken (Murray), and Matthew Schnekenburger (Tammy). Beloved aunt of Laura, Aaron, Daniel, Kate-Lynn, Stephen, Timothy, Paul, Matthew, Julie, Ryan, Justin, Abigail, Erich, and Margaret. Cary will also be remembered by several great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

Cary was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 2 and although she suffered various complications and health issues throughout her life, Cary always carried her cross with courage, humour, and laughter. Cary had the most amazing sense of humour and could make anyone laugh. If she was here today, she would tell you she was born with striking beauty and although she was a terrible singer, what she lacked in vocals, she made up for on the dance floor. She loved her family, friends, and dogs deeply and her loss leaves an enormous hole in all of our hearts. Cary was an inspiration to everyone who was blessed to know her and although the time we had will never be enough, we are comforted knowing she is now at peace.

Cary was active in her community as a member of St. John de Brebeuf Catholic Church, RCIA, the Youth Ministry at St. John de Brebeuf, the literacy program at South Essex Community Council and was a member of AVID. She was predeceased by her parents and her loyal and dedicated guide dogs, Rex, Katie and Rodge, who she loved immensely.

Visitation will take place at Kendrick Funeral Home, 91 Division Street South, Kingsville, on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mass will take place at St. John de Brebeuf Catholic Church, 67 Main Street East, Kingsville, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Greenhill Cemetery.

If you wish, memorial donations may be made by cheque to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 600-235 Yorkland Blvd., North York, ON M2J 4Y8 or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 880 - 5160 Boul Decarie, Montreal, QC H3X 2H9, or to a charity of your choice.
